Hospital bag for baby & Mama

Wednesday, April 17, 2013
I finished packing my hospital bag and Ava's hospital bag this evening. I thought it'd be fun to do a "what's in my hospital bag v-log" for my pregnant mom's that follow me. PLEASE excuse the awful quality of this video. I was trying to multi task with my dog and messaging friends back on my media sites. I was going to post a bunch of pictures of all the items in my bag, but that could have been a tedious task. I will go ahead and bullet ALL the things I covered in the video and some of the things I forgot to mention as well. Enjoy !

Ava's bag
  • 3 newborn headbands from Carter's
  • 2 kissaluv wet bags ( one for dirty clothes, one for dirty cloth diapers)
  • 1 nasal aspirator
  • California baby lotion and shampoo in a newborn tote (organic)
  • 3 receiving blankets ( one for our dog, Cooper to recognize baby's scent)
  • 1 swaddler
  • 1 "take Ava home" blanket from Carter's
  • 2 newborn gowns
  • 4 burp clothes
  • 2 sleepers in newborn size  (cotton)
  • 4 sets of mittens
  • 2 pairs of socks
  • 3 two piece outfits (including her "take me home" outfit)
  • 1 bumgenius newborn AIO
  • Ava's safety first, "princess on board" suction sign for the car
My bag
  • breast pads
  • breast therapy soothing gel patches
  • chapstick
  • stress ball
  • body lotion with my Earth Mama Angel Baby Sampler. Comes with Organic non caffeinated tea that helps for breastfeeding and other little organic samplers.
  • baby powder (on back no friction)
  • kleenex
  • hard candy
  • hair ties
  • a personal pillow
  • My boppy nursing cover
  • 2 going home outfits (Depending on the weather)
  • pads for after labor
  • Ava's baby book ( getting her foot prints )
  • Ina May's guide to breastfeeding
  • Undies
  • nursing bra
  • Nipple cream
I'm also bringing baby pictures of Justin and I along, so I can compare and see who Ava's features favor.

I will have a friend ( who is also a photographer) taking pictures of all of the moments that labor and delivery will provide.

I will also have another friend there, coaching me, as Justin will not be home for the birth. I'm hoping he will be able to skype throughout my laboring and delivery.
