No meat

Sunday, April 27, 2014
I have no idea what's going on with me, but here lately, I puke at the sight of meat. It's really only happened a couple times, but that's more than enough for me to reevaluate my eating habits for awhile. It's crazy to me that my pregnancy urine test came back negative; the nauseous behavior wouldn't be as concerning for me if I were indeed pregnant. None the less Justin and I are embarking on a month long "no meat" challenge. It's been interesting so far. I never knew how many other options afforded just as much protein found in meat. I don't see this being a long lasting thing for us (my husband loves his chicken), but I am enjoying the information we are gaining about other foods, veggies, and organic choices. Thanks to mama natural, we've even decided to give up a few other things as well. I've replaced almost everything in our fridge, with good wholesome nutritional items. Ava bug will soon be eating "big people" food daily, and I really want to implement healthy habits right from the start.

Speaking of Ava bug, we finally made the switch to twelve month clothing with her. Saddest part? The clothes aren't even really loose on her. Granted her cloth butt definitely helps, but it's weird to me that we now have to shop in the toddler section of our favorite department stores. She's even started to take more steps on her "walking" milestone. She walked to daddy the farthest she has ever walked before. I have never been more proud of her. She claps when she hears us squeal with delight. Where did all this personality come from? I have a strong feeling that Ava is going to be an extreme extrovert like her parents. I'm okay with that though; there's nothing wrong with being vibrant and outgoing.

I finally settled on "mommy and me" / family picture photos for Ava bug and I. A friend of mine, shared a website with me last week or so, that I'd seen before, but never really took the time to look at. They have these amazing mom/daughter outfits, and I found one that I am in LOVE with. This boutique has some great stuff. There are even little bow ties for boys to match their mama's outfits. I can't wait for our family pictures. I also can't wait for Victoria and Adalin's visit. It's crazy to think that the same woman who took my maternity photos, is taking my child's first birthday photos. She really does amazing work, and almost all of her photos are on the wall somewhere in our home. For those of my readers that are in the Fort Lewis/Auburn/Seattle/Puyallup/Federal Way/Fort Carson area, BOOK WITH HER! She will be in Washington from May 9th- May 18th, and then she's heading to Colorado after that.

Well, I'm off guys. These weekends go by so fast with Justin, and it's been nice to just enjoy him and Ava. Looks like sleeping beauty might be waking up from her nap soon, so it's back to play time. I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend with their loved ones.

Happy Sunday all!
