California, here we come

Thursday, March 26, 2015
Most of you have probably already noticed by now that we opted not to take a trip out to Georgia this month. Instead, we have decided to take a trip down to California to visit with my family and explore. What makes this impending trip even better? I won't be the only adult flying down! That's right, Ava's god mama has decided to come along for the trip.. the bonus? Her younger brother is in the Navy and stationed right in San Diego! These plans couldn't have worked out more perfectly if we wanted them to. I'm super excited to be traveling with one of my best friends, and I'm even more excited to have help on the flight with little Miss Ava. While Ava is a relatively "easy" child, I know she gets a bit restless when she isn't able to move how she wants to. I'm grateful this flight is less than two hours and it will be non-stop. That's the perfect length of a movie for my girl to watch. Normally, I don't like the excessive screen time, but in this case, I am willing to make an exception due to the circumstances.

I'm so, so excited about this trip you guys. By the time we come home we will be prepping for Justin's arrival, which makes this all the more exciting. I can't wait for Ava to see where I was born and where I grew up for the earlier years of my life. I'm excited for constant sunshine, beaches, and spending time with extended family that I haven't seen in years. I definitely needed to take a trip somewhere, and I'm so glad that everything is coming together for us. I'm also extremely pleased with the airfare and car rental prices. I am literally spending less than $300.00 on travel expenses. You can't really beat that. Especially since airfare is so expensive.

I plan on taking videos and blogging about my experience with flying with my almost two year old. It should be interesting since the last time (and only other time) I flew Ava bug was almost eight months old. Flying is soon going to become a huge part of our lives as Justin and I have discussed making at least one annual trip out to New York each year. Hopefully, this will give us a little insight as to what we can expect from our little one.

Well, that's all for now. I've been slacking on blogging this past week, but we truly have a lot of things going on right now. Between school, being the only parent at home, and juggling all the other crazy, busy aspects of life.. blogging has somehow taken the backseat on my priority list. My goal is to get at least three more blog posts out before the month of March is over. That being said, how many of my readers travel with toddlers frequently? Any advice you'd like to over? Drop a line in the comments or shoot me an email.

Happy Saturday all!
