Liam Arthur: He lost his first baby tooth

Thursday, December 7, 2023

Our sweet little boy hit a major milestone in the tooth department. Liam lost his first tooth!
So, picture this: our little munchkin, the one with the infectious giggles and the untamable bedhead, lost his first tooth. And guess how it happened? Drumroll, please... while chomping down on a juicy apple! I swear the boy's got style. Now, I've been through the business of losing teeth a few times with the older two, but there's just something about that first tooth that hits you right in the feels. It's like a tiny milestone that screams, "Hey, remember when he had zero teeth? Yeah, those were the days." Anyway, our little toothless wonder had quite the dilemma about the tooth fairy almost immediately after raving about his lost tooth. Justin and I could see the wheels turning in his little head. He was contemplating whether to keep the tooth as some sort of baby teeth trophy or let the tooth fairy take his newly lost tooth in exchange for a bit of money. Liam sat down and really thought about this - I was surprised because this was certainly a first for us. He bounced different thoughts off of both his daddy and me but then, the fear of missing out on some serious tooth fairy magic kicked in. So, with a mix of excitement and uncertainty, he decided to tuck that tiny tooth under his pillow, hoping for the best.

The anticipation was real, folks. The next morning, his eyes widened like you would not believe! Liam discovered the treasure under his pillow and guess what the tooth fairy left him? Five whole dollars! This little dude shouted, "I'm rich! I've got five! I've got five!" It was absolutely hilarious until one of his sisters informed him he wasn't getting very far with his newly earned treasure.

I have to admit, as overjoyed as I am about his excitement and the whole tooth fairy extravaganza, it's a bittersweet reminder that our little ones are growing up faster than we can keep up. I mean, wasn't he just learning to walk yesterday? Life really is like an hourglass, and we're just trying to savor every precious grain of sand. So here's to our little man, proudly flashing that toothless grin, reinforcing just how quickly time is flying. And to all you moms out there, cheers to the messy, magical, and downright chaotic journey of motherhood. We're in this together, one lost tooth at a time!
