Olivia Rose
Ten. Double digits. How did we get here?

You are sensational. Truly. This last year has been a MAJOR growth year for you in every way. Physically, mentally, emotionally… and even geographically. New spaces. New routines. New circles. And somehow, you didn’t just adjust,  you bloomed, babe!

The world of Olivia is pop music and FRIENDS. Hanging out with friends. Calling friends. Being on FaceTime with friends. Planning things with friends. Laughing with friends. You are such a social butterfly, and this year felt like a middle-school breakout year for our fourth grader. Watching you step into your voice, your confidence, and your independence that much more has been something special.

You are incredibly smart. Incredibly empathetic. Such a giver. So kind. So beautiful — inside and out. You genuinely care about people. You notice things others don’t. You advocate for friends. You feel deeply. You love loudly.

You broke the mold, my love. You truly did. But that is really no surprise.

From the moment you entered my world, you have moved at your own pace, always a trendsetter, never rushed, never behind. Just Olivia. Daddy and I have learned to meet your tempo (which is fast, by the way 😂), but it still amazes me how quickly you zoom through seasons of growth. It feels like yesterday I was tying bows in your hair, and now we’re debating middle parts and skin care routines.

Your love for music has amplified this year — Olivia Rodrigo is still reigning supreme, but now Freya Skye has been added to the lineup. Buying you FLOOR seats for your first concert/birthday gift just to see your face light up? Worth every single penny! You feel music in your bones. You sing like you mean it.

You take school seriously. You care about your grades. You talk about becoming a teacher one day, and honestly? I see it. Your patience. Your heart. Your leadership. Your natural ability to bring people in. You've been telling us for the last few years that being an educator is your passion and career of choice. We believe you!

You love pink palm puff hoodies, Beats headphones, pink drinks from Starbucks, acrylic nails, and all things girly. You love facials and skincare nights. You love girl talk. You love being my shopping buddy. You love shining, and you shine whether you realize it or not.

You’ve been begging for a cell phone this year (and we’re still holding the line 😅), but I know that season isn’t far off. And while part of me wants to freeze you right here at ten… I also love watching you grow.

You still love gymnastics, and you’ve mastered new skills this year that required discipline and grit. You love Girl Scouts. You love your troop. Watching you with those girls, so confident, encouraging, and collaborative, makes my heart soar. You are a team player. A natural-born leader. The kind of girl other girls feel safe around.

Olivia Rose, it is an honor to be your mom. It is a privilege to have a front-row seat to your life. You make me laugh. You challenge me. You soften me. You remind me that growing up can be both beautiful and bittersweet.

Ten looks so good on you.

Happy Birthday, my baby.

Keep shining. Always. 🤍✨
