12 Weeks

Tuesday, July 7, 2015
I can't believe how quickly the past four weeks have flown by with baby # 2! The last update I made was at 8 weeks, and things have definitely changed a bit over the last month. Next week marks the start of my second trimester and I am praying that being free of all-day-sickness comes with it. Morning sickness has truly been the biggest challenge during this pregnancy, but I'm happy to report that it has subsided tremendously (only vomiting a couple times a day). I am no longer extremely weak and attached to the couch for the better part of my day. It feels good to be getting better, even though the amount of weight I have lost is completely unreal at this point. I saw our little miracle bean exactly a week ago and everything was on track with baby's health and growth. I did develop another subchorionic hemorrhage ( I had one with Ava bug), but it is small and doesn't pose any harm to baby or myself. Without further delay, here are the deets for my 12 week update!

How far Along: 12 weeks

Nicknames for baby: Miracle Bean, Liam (We strongly think baby bean is  a boy)

Size of baby: Lime

Gender Prediction: Boy, because this pregnancy is so different than my pregnancy with Ava bug

Symptoms: morning sickness, nausea, fatigue, bloating, tons of discharge, and gas pains (ouch)!

Best moment this week: Waking up and not immediately running for the bathroom

Movement: I am almost more than positive that I felt flutters

Food Cravings: Pickles and pickle juice

Food Aversions: Everything except pickles at this point

What I Miss: Being able to sleep comfortably

Sleep: Most times, I knock right out.. lately, finding the right position has been hard

Justin: Up until yesterday, Justin was taking on every single duty in our family. He talked to baby everyday and every night, he rubbed my belly, and gave me a foot rub whenever I requested it. Being without him is definitely going to be tough... for emotional support and help around the house.

What I am looking forward to this week: I am definitely looking forward to entering my second trimester and having my NT ultrasound done

Happy or moody most of the time: I have definitely been happy almost all the time. I am so excited about bean and I've already started pulling out gender neutral clothes/accessories that we had with Ava bug. I've pulled out cloth diapers and I've been picking out baby essentials online.

Here's a fun little timeline of my pregnancy from weeks 5-11! I won't see baby again until next week, so I'm excited to see how much more of the human form our bean has taken on!

Happy Tuesday all!
