33 Weeks

Tuesday, December 1, 2015
7 weeks, guys! Just 7 weeks until we are expected to meet Olivia. Saying that just made me smile so big! That's under two months away! Not too much has changed in the last week, aside from making a decision about the glucose situation. I talked to the specialist that deals with diabetes in the medical mall on post, and she suggested (from personal experience) that I just go on ahead and use the strips and glucometer. I'd be testing my blood sugar once a week and reporting the numbers to a clinic inside of the medical mall that handles all things pregnancy. So at this point, I'm not sure if I indeed have gestational diabetes, but this is definitely a precautionary when you skip the three hour glucose test. I still have the "OK" to fly to New York for Christmas, so knowing that gives me all the reassurance in the world. Also, I've been dealing with some leakage already (not from the ta tas), so I started using my mama cloth prior to postpartum. I plan on making a video about my experience, but I have to tell you guys.. I am in love!

How far Along33 weeks

Nicknames for baby: Livy Bean, Olivia

Size of babyI guarantee that Livy is over 4.5 pounds ( still measuring two weeks ahead)

Gender: It's a girl!

Symptoms: Feeling winded, back aches, leakage while laughing (so not fun)

Best moment this week: Experiencing a feast of a Thanksgiving while feeling super pregnant, oh and burning myself while roasting a turkey.. I think I bawled more than my tear year old when she falls at the playground. The burning part definitely wasn't fun, but having Dr. Justin tend to me was super stellar, especially when he asked Olivia if she was okay.

Movement: ALL. THE. TIME.

Food Cravings: Orange juice, apple pie, mac + cheese

Food Aversions: anything red sauce based

What I Miss: Not feeling achy when I wake up

Sleep: I get extremely good sleep, once I am out, I am out! Except, I started drooling (yuck).

Justin: I have to give this man some major husband props. Not only is he dealing with the emotional shifts from his very pregnant wife, he's also dealing with his very pregnant wife being absentee for a good chunk of the weekend, due to taking on photo shoots. Dad's feelings matter SO much in pregnancy, and I always try to remember that how he feels is extremely important in this process. He's a trooper, with minimal complaints though. Very lucky to have this man by my side.

Ava: My sweet bug. She got to spend a good chunk of time with a three week old this past week... Can I just say, baby baby baby! Ava absolutely loved cooing and awing over sweet Baby A. She held her, rubbed her head gently, and wiped her face after a feeding. She did not want to leave that baby's side.. It just further reassured us that she is going to be the best big sister, ever! I can't wait to watch my girls bond and watch Ava love on her baby sister.

What I am looking forward to this week: I am looking forward to getting back on my yoga ball more, and practicing some hypno-birthing techniques, to prepare for a calm and relaxing labor for Miss Olivia.

Happy or moody most of the time: I'm not unhappy, but I am extremely emotional. I've noticed that even the smallest of things bring on the tears. I feel a little more anxious these days, and I'm pretty sure I've had at least two mini panic attacks since Thanksgiving. I know I need to slow down a bit and also not sweat the small stuff. The only person that I haven't gotten overwhelmed by is Ava. She'll come up and hug me, and that makes everything better. Definitely different emotions than I had when I was pregnant with Ava at this stage, but I'm rolling with the punches.

Here's a shot of my 33 week belly! Note the bandaid from burning my arm on Thanksgiving ;)
