Auntie Nani's baby boy

Baby Rain, you are so incredibly loved already, sweet boy!

My baby sister had a baby. It's so surreal. She had the most dramatic birth story I've ever heard and I'm just so proud of her for bringing such a perfect little being earthside -- safely and healthy. On August 22nd, 2022, my beautiful nephew Rainier Carson Roberts was born. Just under five pounds, he's a late preterm baby and completely healthy! His APGAR scores were 9 and then 10, he passed his hearing with flying colors, and he's nursing like a champ. As a new mom, you really can't ask for much more than this. Since Regina didn't know the gender her entire pregnancy, delivering her baby while en route to the hospital left room for a big surprise for all of us. These are the moments that make living 3,000 miles away So. Dang. Hard. I know not having my mom here to witness and support her through these monumental moments is absolutely devastating. It hurts my heart for her and for me, if I'm being honest. I think that's why I'm trying to show up in the biggest and most supportive ways I can right now. Definitely challenging but I'm going home soon --- so excited, and I cannot wait to love on this sweet boy in person. It's insane that I've always wanted to be an aunt, and after four kids of my own, and nearly 10 years after I made my sister an aunt... here we are. I don't think anyone in our family really thought this moment would arrive. I'm so thankful it did.

I can't explain it but honestly from the moment I saw this little babe, my heart just melted. Somehow I knew I'd never be the same again. I'm totally okay with that. My kids are pretty gaga about this little guy, too.

Welcome to the ohana, my love! Such a wonderful and beautiful addition to the family.

Auntie is over the moon about you in every single way.
