My literal twin in every sense of the word, my Olivia Rose. How the heck did 7 creep up on us this quickly? When I think about you, my secondborn... I smile really big almost always, first... you remind me SO much of myself. Everything about the way you've grown and even the way you made your grand entrance into this world (being born on the literal day I pledged my devoted love to your daddy)... I imagined you'd be nothing less than who you have become and all that you are. You are incredibly intelligent -- and not just academically. You pick up on the energy of others, moods, body language, emotions, feelings, etc. You have a big heart for everyone you love and most things you feel called to put passion into. You are funny (but not on purpose lol, you get this from me) and you have quite the flare for the dramatics! I appreciate that from time to time.
Watching you grow into this stellar academic star has been a real treat. You love to learn and when you learn something, you master it! We couldn't be more proud of all the hard work you put into your education, even at this age. I wish more than anything you weren't so hard on yourself when you don't get things just right the first go -- be kind to yourself, always. Something I still struggle with. I never want my struggles to be yours, and watching your childhood play out is a constant reminder that they won't be.
You made a solid friend circle for yourself, so much so that the same group of girls happens to be your best buds this year, too. Planning out your first birthday party since before covid-19 was a pretty big deal and I'm so glad we made that happen for you! From the ice cream cake to the yoga limbo, and affirmation stones -- watching you light up makes our world go round. I'm so glad you went with your gut and chose a yoga party! I love your mind and how creative you are, especially when it comes to allll the fun things!
For the last three years, we've taken your photos here in New York and I love that you let us take your photos out in the snow. This a reminder that you are truly a winter babe and much like winter, so resilient and beautiful at the same time. I love who you are, and I love knowing that you are going to ROCK the world in the biggest and best of ways. You have this impact on people -- they gravitate toward you, much like the suns sometimes... but in return, they feel warm and happy just for knowing you. I hope the next 365 day around the sun affords you all the love that you give everyone else, alllll the hugs, growth, safety, and dance parties that your beautiful little soul can handle.
