An open letter to my daughter: Tatum, you are 2.5 years old.

To know you is to absolutely love you. Nearly three. I love you, sweet girl.

My Tater tot,

As I sit down to write you this letter, my heart overflows with emotions I find difficult to put into words. You, my sweet child, are now two and a half years old, and it's a milestone I wasn't sure I'd ever get to witness. You are my last child, the youngest of four, and your journey before entering into the world was filled with uncertainty and challenges. But we overcame the unknown. You were not only a symbol of hope and love but also a testament to the strength of the human spirit.

I remember my pregnancy with you, early on was filled with so much fear, uncertainty, countless hospital visits, and prayers from believers who loved both you and me. That tumultuous time in my life is forever etched in my memory. The thought of losing you before you even had the chance to take your first breath was a pain I hope no parent ever has to endure. Yet, your tiny heart kept beating, your spirit kept fighting, and you proved that life is an incredible, beautiful, and resilient force. When we made it to the time of anatomy scans and gender reveals, Daddy said you were a girl. I didn't really know, but seeing how strong and miraculous you were through a heterotopic pregnancy -- how could you NOT be? We draw our strength and greatness from our ancestral lineage. Throughout generations, the women in our family have consistently exemplified resilience and fortitude. And with that, when they told us you were a little girl, I beamed with such pride.

I will never forget the day you came into this world, my miracle baby. Seeing you for the first time brought me to instant tears. To hear you cry was a relief for us. You entered the world with so much love surrounding you. Your first grip on my finger, your first sweet giggle, and those unsteady, endearing first steps felt like miracles, each one more precious than the last.

Now, at two and a half, you have blossomed into a vibrant, energetic, and loving little human. You've brought immeasurable happiness into our lives and have bound our family even tighter. Your three older siblings adore you; they protect you and share in your adventures. The love that flows between all of you is a reminder of the extraordinary bonds that make our family complete.

As I look at you today, my heart swells with gratitude. Your journey is a constant reminder that life is a precious gift, and each moment, no matter how small, is a treasure. You have taught me to cherish every second and to never take anything for granted. You've shown me the true meaning of hope, love, and the power of resilience. You are truly our bringer of cheerful joy, Tatum.

I share our story often with the world not only as a tribute to you but as a reminder that, even in the face of adversity, hope and love can conquer the darkest of times. I hope our story inspires others to cherish the moments with their loved ones, to hold them close, and to celebrate every milestone, no matter how big or small.

Thank you, my dear child, for gracing our lives with your presence. You are a constant source of joy and a reminder of the beauty of life. I love you so very big, and I am eternally grateful for the blessing that is you.

With all my love,

Mama
